Route description
The town of Ylöjärvi has just over 33 thousand inhabitants. It is situated only a 15-minute drive from Tampere city centre. The terrain of the area offer a great framework for mountain biking. Especially beginners will find a lot of nice routes here, as there are plenty of easy forest singletracks to ride in the area.The route in the video is a 25.6 km long circle route. There are several shortcut options along the route, in case total distance seems too long for you.
The route starts at Velodromintie 45, 33420 Ylöjärvi, where you will find a large parking space with no hourly limit. If you want to cycle here from Tampere city center, then your trip will take just over half an hour.
The route starts with a short climb along the asphalt road to the Lamminpää outdoor hut. This is one of very few road sections along the the route, as most of it runs along quick singletrack. Great singletrack, which is perfect for mountain biking, starts right from the outdoor hut. In some places the route also runs along the skiing and fitness tracks.
There are only few technical sections along this route. These consist mainly of rocky and rooty sections. In addition, there are also a few steep ascent and descent sections along this mountain biking route.
At around 19 kilometer mark the route runs on the shore of Lake Pikku-Ahvenisto. This is a great place for a break in a nice scenery. Here you will also find a shelter and a fire place. After a break, the fast and flowy singletrack will take you back to the starting point of the route.
In general, the whole route is technically easy and consists mainly from the fast trails. This route is perfect for mountain biking beginners. Altitude differences also provide a great challenge for your fitness.
