<\/i>Route description<\/h4>Starting from 2016, a mountain biking route network called “Fiskars Village Trail Center” has been established in the surroundings of Fiskars Village. The routes are constantly expanded and improved.<\/p>\n

At the moment Fiskars Trail Center offers thirteen routes of different difficulty level. Some of the routes are intended for beginners (greens) and some are technically really challenging (blacks). Further information about each route can be found from the map below.<\/p>\n

Personally, I was riding the R\u00f6varberget route, which is one of the most difficult and technical in the Fiskars Trail Center.<\/strong> The official length of the route is 15 km, but my GPS unit measured a length of only 13.8 km.<\/p>\n

The route begins at the Fiskars market (Peltorivi 1, 10470, Raasepori<\/strong>) and its first kilometre is the transition to the trails. This works as a good warm-up before the ride. After a first kilometer, the route dives into the forest and from here onwards runs only on the single track (apart of few short forest roads).<\/p>\n

The technicality of the route proved to be a bit easier than expected. I have only encountered few sections, where I could not ride the bike (had to push). Thus, the technicality of the route is suitable for an average mountain biker. However, I have to admit, that I got just enough of technical challenge riding this route. The trail runs mainly along fast forest singletrack, but in certain places rocky and rooty terrain keeps you well awake.<\/p>\n

R\u00f6varberget route is quite physical, as there are plenty of climbs to be tackled. Few descent sections were quite steep, but still ridable. There is one descent, which even has Bike Park style berms on it.<\/p>\n

The route is also very well marked – big thumbs up to the trail builders! You can get a free map of the available routes (below) from the info-desk of Fiskars Village. It should be enough for navigation in the area.<\/p>\n

I definitely recommend you riding Fiskars trails, as everyone will find a suitable mountain biking challenge here.<\/p>\n
