<\/i>Route description<\/h4>Aulanko mountain biking trail runs through the beautiful scenery of the Aulanko Nature Reserve and to the east of Lake Aulangonj\u00e4rvi. The route partially follows the route of the Aulanko MTB event, but sections from Sibelius forest were removed from it. Please note that mountain biking in the Aulanko Nature Reserve is only allowed on a separate mountain biking trail (challenging), gravel fitness routes and maintenance roads.<\/strong> Thus, please follow the the gps-track closely.<\/p>\n

The route starts at Aulanko Spa Hotel, at Aulangontie 93, 13210, H\u00e4meenlinna<\/strong>. You can park your car at the hotel’s parking place for the duration of the bike ride.<\/p>\n

The route is not technical in general, but beginners might find it challenging in few places. This is especially true on the downhills, which should be ridden slower and with additional caution. Multiple ascends on the route require a good fitness level, so even experienced mountain biking enthusiasts will get some challenge here.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of fast-paced forest trails on the route, but there are also some technical roots and rocks. About 65% of the entire route runs along the trails.<\/strong> Other sections consist of the forest roads and skiing\/running paths. However, these roads have very little traffic, so this route will certainly not going to be crowded.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the route (3.8 km) you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of Nature Reserve from the viewing tower at the top of Aulangonvuori Hill. There is also a cafeteria nearby the tower.<\/p>\n
